Eliza Moles was baptised on 29th April 1860 at Willian in Hertfordshire, daughter of a straw plaiter named Hannah Moles, formerly Walker, and her husband Thomas Moles, an agricultural labourer. Eliza appears in both the 1861 and 1871 censuses living with her parents and siblings at Willian.

In 1878, when she was 18 years old, Eliza married an ostler named George Minnis. They have yet to be researched after their marriage.
