Eliza Moles was baptised on 27th March 1825 at Willian in Hertfordshire, daughter of Mary Ann Moles, formerly Best, and her husband Thomas Moles, an agricultural labourer.
The 1841 census finds Eliza living with her parents and youngest brother at Willian. In 1844 Eliza married an agricultural labourer named Thomas Bracey at Graveley, just south of Willian. The 1851 census finds Thomas and Eliza living at Graveley. A week after that census, the couple had a daughter, Elizabeth Jane, baptised at Graveley, but she died shortly after birth. The couple do not appear to have had any other children.
Eliza and Thomas appear to have stayed the rest of their lives in Graveley, with Thomas working as an agricultural labourer and Eliza as a plaitter. Back in Willian, Eliza's father died in 1853. Her mother then moved a few miles west to Offley, where two of Eliza's sisters had settled. Eliza's mother died in Offley in 1861.
Eliza and Thomas appear in each census from 1851 to 1891 living in Graveley. Eliza died on 3rd May 1895, aged 70. Thomas outlived her by nine years.
