OBITUARY: Los Banos Enterprise. Los Banos, CA. Saturday, April 22, 1916 ELIZA JANE JEFFERS PASSES OVER THE GREAT DIVIDE Mrs. Eliza Jane Jeffers, a pioneer of 43 years, died at the residence of R. W. Menzel at Cottonwood, Thursday, April 20th. The interment will be at Los Banos Cemetery today, Saturday, April 22d. Walter Davis of Newman officiating as undertaker. Mrs. Jeffers was the widow of the late B.W. Jeffers. She was a native of Iowa and was aged 73 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was well known to the pioneers of the West Side, where she and her husband dispensed hospitality with a free hand generations ago. They were held in the highest esteem by all who were fornuate in knowing them. They raised an honored family to take their place and revere their memory. One by one the old pioneers pass on and the long list of the honored ones grow gradually shorter. Peace to their ashes.
