BATH COUNTY NEWS-OUTLOOK Week of January 10, 2002 ELIZA LOUISE DAWSON, 71 PASSES AWAY FROM THE EFFECTS OF PNEUMONIA

  Eliza Louise Dawson, age 71, of Stepstone Road, Owingsville, passed away January 6, 2002 at Mary Chiles Hospital from complications of pneumonia.  She was born March 9, 1930 to the late Warner and Rosa Jackson Dawson.  She was a homemaker, farmer and writer of songs, poems and articles.  She penned the lyrics to a song that was once recorded entitled, "Raining Roses." She also wrote many poems and articles that appeared in numerous magazines including: Ladies Home Journal, Saturday Evening Post, Farm Journal, Progressive Farmer and McCall's.  Many of her craft related articles were published in trade magazines as well.  She attended Owingsville United Methodist Church.
  Survivors include two sisters, Mary E. (Mrs. Edward) Lucas and Lorena (Mrs Lawrence) Shrout, both of Owingsville; four nephews.
  A graveside service was held Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Longview Cemetery in Bethel.  A eulogy was given by Mike Ray.
