Elijah [sic] Whetcomb ye Son of Joseph & Damaris Whetcomb was born October ye 18th 1742.
[Note: the baptism and birth appear to be the same person. The discrepancy in names has caused it to be construed as up to three different people, the Whitcomb Genealogy thinking there was a twin named Elizabeth, Elisha and Elijah. The presence of Elisha as a surety for his brother in the father's probate suggests that is the one correct name.]
