  3.   Source:Carter, Clara A. Carter : A Genealogy of the Descendants of Samuel and Thomas, Sons of Rev. Samuel Carter, p. 99, says that John Carter m. Anna Whitcomb "b. 1752, d. March 22, 1812". Both dates are incorrect and appear to be the result of an obvious math error. John Carter died 18 or 19 March 1812 according to the Leominster VRs, p. 299. On p. 297 is found the death of Wid. Anna Carter on 22 Mar 1812, age 80. Apparently this was assumed to apply to Anna, a widow for less than a week, and either misread or miscalculated, giving a birth in 1752, i.e., an age of only 60 years, not the 80 given by the record. If recorded correctly, this record clearly does not apply to Anna since age 80 implies a birth in 1732. But even if the age is wrong, it does not apply to Anna since she was alive in Dec 1812 to post bond to sell part of John's estate to pay debts (she was co-administrator of his estate, Worcester case 10394).
