    16 Dec 1758, Hopkinton: Request of "Widow Lydia Hayden relict of Mr Elisha Hayden of Hopkinton lately dec'd", "being infirm is not able to be at your Office", but desirous of taking administration on her s'd Husband's Estate.
    8 Jan 1759: Bond of Lydia Hayden Widow as "Administrat'x of the Estate of her late husband Elisha Hayden late of Hopkinton".
    16 Jan 1759: Inventory of Mr Elisha Hayden of Hopkinton Lately died Intestate: £478.6.2.0, by John Wood, Timo Townsend, John Nutt.
    24 Sep 1759: Account of Lydia Haden admin'x of the Estate of mr Elisha Haden late of Hopkinton allowed.
    [29?] Oct 1759: Inventory of real estate. Set off to the widow of the decesed, to Elisha Hayden Eldest son of the decesed, to Elias Hayden second son of the decesed. Signed by Lidya Hayden for self & four children, Elisha Hayden, Elias Hayden, John Nutt Guardian for 2 Children. Judges notes (in margin): Children: Elisha (Eldest) 4; Elias 5; Moses 7; Daniel 9; Hezekiah 10; Bulah 1; Abigail 2; Lydia 3; Mary 6; Rachel 8; Ruth 11.
    4 Feb 1760: Judge's decree: Real estate settled on Elisha Hayden he paying charges and Moses, Daniel, Hezekiah & Bulah as well as Abigail, Lydia and Mary; and on Elias Hayden he paying charges and Mary and Rachel and Ruth.

  2. ↑ An unsourced death date of "2 Dec 1758" was removed as no basis for it was found. Clearly, it fits what is indicated by the probate, that he died before 16 Dec 1758 (and which is as precise a death date as Source:Smith, Dean Crawford. Ancestry of Eva Belle Kempton 1878-1908 cares to assert). There is no death record found in the Hopkinton VRs, and some secondary sources claim different dates, such as Source:Rutherford, William Kenneth. Genealogical History of Our Ancestors (128539), Vol. 2, p. 151, which gives 2 Feb 1758, which suggests the need for a source with some authority.
