I have set this record up to show a possible connection between descendants.

I believe that the various Smarts b. ca. 1785-1800, who married in Nicholas Co., Kentucky, may have been siblings or cousins. This includes Ruth 1779-1846 m. John H. Myers; Humphrey 1785-1869 m. Mary Myers; John Smart ~1790 m. Sarah Earle/Earls and went to Marion Co., Indiana; William 1797-1829 m. Sarah 'Sally' Myers; Elijah 1798- m. Elizabeth Daugherty; Hezekiah 1799-1870 MO m. Margaret Hinkson and went to Indiana then Missouri; and Elizabeth ~1800-aft 1880, never married.

In the 1820 census for Nicholas Co., Kentucky, there are listings for William Smart, Humphrey Smart, John Smart and Janet Smart.

"From letter written to Joann Sellers from Maudie Hanson:Elijah Smart was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Daugherty on August 15, 1827. Their ten children were born in Nicholas County, Kentucky. In the fall of 1864, they moved to Livingston County, Illinois and from there to Sullivan County, Indiana County, Missouri in the spring of 1866. He died on the Adlesperger place in Sullivan County, Indiana. According to a posting on Myers Family Forum, two of Ruth's brothers married sisters of John Myers.

In the 1850 census for Nicholas Co., there are listings for Elijah (52) and Elizabeth (nee Daugherty); and Humphrey 65; and Betsy Smart with widower of Ruth in Fleming Co. Hezekiah (53) and [John's widow?] Sarah [nee Earl?] (53) are listed in Marion Co., Indiana.

I believe Elizabeth Smart is shown with her sister Ruth's widower John in 1850 in Fleming Co. age 50; in 1870 with Ruth's son Joseph's family in Bates Co., Missouri and in 1880 in Erath Co., Texas with Joseph Beaver and Ruth's grandchildren by Joseph C.
