Elizabeth another of his daughters intermarried with Nicholas Syme and is now deceased leaving the sd Nicholas and four children by him, to wit John M., Nicholas, Elisa, and Clarissa.
1. Jane Johnson ... married Dr. William Marshall first, and then Nicholas Syme.
Her children were John M. Syme, Nicholas Syme, Elisa Syme, and Clarissa Syme. [Virginia Migrations, Deposition of Chapman Johnson, pg. 4.]

Chapman is mistaken. It was not Jane who married Nicholas Syme, but rather her sister Elizabeth, as proven by the 1803 deposition of their brother Capt. John Boswell Johnson.
