Adm'n granted to bros. William and John Hill, 23 Apr. 1696. They refused, and Lt. James Bennett and Abraham Adams were appointed. Bennett refused, so Adams administered. Mr. Nathaniel Burr and Mr. John Edwards were appointed to act with Adams, 10 Feb. 1696 [1696/7], because of difficulties. Part of Inv. could not be "gained from Robert Lord and Esther"; they explained losses.
