PARKER Captain Elijah Parker 1768-1853 State of North Carolina To Elijah Parker Greeting We reposing special Trust and Confidence in your Patriotism, valour, conduct and abilities, do, by these presents, constitute and appoint you Captain in the Duch District. Witness Richard Dobbs Spaight, Esquire, our Captain-General and Commander in Chief, under his hand and seal which he has caused to be hereto affixed, at New Bern on the 10th day of Dec. A.D. 1793, and in the 15th year of our Independence. Richard Dobbs Spaight Parker Cemetery, Raus, Bedford Co., TN Will of Elijah Parker - May 12, 1832 Proved Apr. 1853, Bedford Co., TN (transcribed from a photo-copy) In the name of God amen - - - I Elijah Parker Senr. of Bedford County and State of Tennessee being in my usual state of health and mind do constitute and make this my last will and testament revoking all other -- it being my desire to do Justice to all my several sons and daughters. I keep a Book where in I have set down in my own hand wrighting all the property that I have given them as apart of there legacy, and the price an next to the same and if I hearafter should give property to any of my children it will be found enterd on s'd book and the different sums charg'd in s'd Book is to be good and vallid against them as part of there lgacy or the whole as the case may be - - item it is my will and sesire that all my property that I may die in possession off shall be sold on a twelve month's credit and after paying my just and honest debts to be equally divided between them all my children to wit Lucy Beasley Salley McGill Samuel Parker Richard Parker Priscilla Chappell Jonathan Parker Elijah Parker Susanna Sugg Charles Parker James H.
