(2.) Elijah Embree Hoss, son of Henry and Anna Maria Sevier Hoss was born in Washington County, Tennessee, April 14 , 1849. He married Abbie Bell Clarke, daughter of Edwin R. Clarke and Mary Ann Sessler Clarke. He became a distinguished Bishop of the Methodist Episcolal Church South. Died at the home of his son, Dr. Sessler Hoss, at Muskogee Oklahoma, April 23, 1919. He had three children ;
