From The Ohio Repository, Canton, Ohio, March 15, 1820, page 3, column 3: "A man by the name of Elihu Denison, of Plymouth township, Richland County, was killed a short time since. He and his wife had been on a visit to a friend; on their return home in a sled, the oxen took fright - Mr. Denison got off, for the purpose of driving them forward, when they suddenly started and dragged the sled over his body - His wife unfortunately got her arm broke at the same time"


From A Pioneer History of Richland Co., Ohio, by Brinkerhoff, page 31: "PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP: The first house in Plymouth Township was built on the present site of Plymouth village in 1815 by ........ Among the earliest settlers of the township may be named ........, ELI DENNISON on sec 1, ...... Johnny Appleseed had a nursery on sec. 10 and from that all the early orchards were started......"


Elihu Denison owned 100 acres, valued at $192 in Auburn Twp., Richland County, Ohio, as "part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 1 in Township 22 in Range No. 20 of the Canton District........"
