In this town [DeRuyter, NY], last evening, (1st inst.) of Congestive Typhus Fever, Elias S. Wells, son of Matthew Wells, jr., in the 22d year of his age.
The deceased was a worthy member of the S. D. B. Church, and although deprived of his reason for some hours previous to his death, yet his uniform Christian deportment has left an abiding assurance with his friends that his blest spirit has winged its way to the "spirit-world," there to join the enraptured throng of angels and glorified spirits. His loss will be deeply deplored by a numerous train of relatives and friends, and particularly so by the De Ruyter Brass Band, of which he was Leader. A. H. B.
