Elias Weddle, Sr. was married to Nancy Wallen on 29 May 1791 in Hawkins Co TN. His parents were John R Weddle and Mary Wallen Weddle. When Elias was about 4 yrs old, the family came from the Netherlands to America (1774), settling in Baltimore MD. By 1786 they had moved to Pittsburg Co PA.
Elias and his son Thomas (1796-1814), were both killed in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in Tohopeka, AL in 1814. (The Indian War of 1812.) Elias is buried in the Ft Williams Military Cemetery in Fayetteville/Sylacuaga, Taladega Co., AL. Another son, Corporal Elias Weddel (1809-1881), was severely wounded in the Battle of Buena Vista (aka Battle of Angostura) in Mexico on 23 Feb 1847.

9) Elias Weddle Jr (1809-1881), m1: Anna Richards, m2: Hester Ann Weddle, his 1st cousin.
10) Armilda Millicent "Millie" Weddle (1811-1846), m: Pleasant R Hamblen.
