    Mordecai Vickers was the son of William Vickers ((b) @1789 in Rockingham County, Va. and (d) after 1850 in Kanawha County, Va.) and the grandson of Elias Vickers ((d) 1822 in Montgomery County, Va) and Margaret "Peggy" Cunningham ((d) @1792 in Rockingham County, Virginia.

    William's mother was Peggy Hornbarger.She married William Vickers on October 24, 1806 in Montgomery County, Virginia.Her parents were Peter Hornbarger and Elizabeth Smith.

    Griffin was Mordecai's older brother.He was born September 24, 1809 in Montgomery County and died September 21, 1901 in Chapmansville, Logan County, W.Va.I believe he ran a store in Chapmansville for many years.
