Mentioned as a witness to the will of his uncle Peter Flandreau ; see his record. Is this Elias the father of Elias F. Flandrau ? (It's also possible that the esitmation of his father's birth year is too early, and this this Elias is the same person as Eli as F. Flandrau.)

The 1790 census for New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York , page 201, lists Elias Flandreau as head of a household consist ing of 3 white males of 16 or older, 4 white females, and one "o ther person" (a free black, perhaps, or a native american). Tha t Elias could be this individual.

The 1800 census also has an Elias Flandereau, but that individua l was between 26 and 45, which makes it more likely this Elias ' son or a nephew. That further suggests Elias might have bee n deceased by 1800.
