Graveside services for Eli C. Jones, 83, Mexico Beach, Fla., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Goodman officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Jones died Wednesday, April 15, 1992, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla.
He was born Dec. 9, 1908, in Tonganoxie, the son of Richard and Mary Jane Hubbell Jones.
A former Lawrence resident, he had lived here before moving to Climax Springs, Mo., in 1976 and later to Florida.
Mr. Jones was a retired electrician and had worked at Huxtable and Associates in Lawrence. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the First United Methodist Church of Mexico Beach. An Army veteran of World War II, he also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Mr. Jones was married to Wilma Yount Jones, and she preceded him in death. He later married Velma Keal, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include a sister, Myrtle Wilson, Lawrence; a stepson, Fred Rapp, Perth, Australia; two stepdaughters, Martha Ruddell, Oakland, Calif., and Shirley Rapp, Kansas City, Mo.; seven stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
