--GaleB 05:17, 20 January 2008 (EST) Elgate was married twice. The name of his first wife is still unknown, but it appears she was the mother of all his children. The 1820 census for Jackson Co., GA shows Elgate was already married with 2 children, one male & one female. His second wife was Susanah Dumas, they married in Monroe Co., GA in 1841: Marriage Bk A, pg 190, Elget Driskell to Susan Dumas, Amos Ponder, J. P.

The following deed shows George Jr selling a piece of land and his brother Elget witnessing the transaction: Monroe Co., GA Deed Bk C 1823-1824, pg. 77-A -- Sept 2, 1823, Deed bet. George Driskell & John Driver both of Monroe Co., GA in consideration of $100 in hand paid, hath bargained, sold & conveyed unto said Driver all that part of tract of land lying in the 14th Dist of Monroe Co., GA on south side of Towalgia River containing 30 acres.
