The 1820 census for Jackson Co., GA shows Elgate was already married with 2 children, one male & one female. His second wife was Susanah Dumas, they married in Monroe Co., GA in 1841: Marriage Bk A, pg 190, Elget Driskell to Susan Dumas, Amos Ponder, J. P. The following deed shows George Jr selling a piece of land and his brother Elget witnessing the transaction: Monroe Co., GA Deed Bk C 1823-1824, pg. 77-A -- Sept 2, 1823, Deed bet. George Driskell & John Driver both of Monroe Co., GA in consideration of $100 in hand paid, hath bargained, sold & conveyed unto said Driver all that part of tract of land lying in the 14th Dist of Monroe Co., GA on south side of Towalgia River containing 30 acres. Wit: John B. Whatley, Elget Driskell.
