    Eleazer Rice, s/o Edmund Rice and Ruth Parker, b. 20 Aug 1709, m. (1) 23 Dec 1731 Persis Newton, m. (2) Mehitabel --- from Beverly.

"He is called of Shrewsbury in his will, 1767. He was at Shrews., 1729, and in possession of house lot No. 24, in that year, of of house lot 31, in 1730. He was a highway surveyor in Shrews., 1760, and called himself of that town in 1767; hence it is probable, that , notwithstanding he and his wives were adm. to the chh. at Westboro', and had the births of their chil. recorded there, he, with his family, resided in Shrews., and part of the time on the place in the southwest part of the town, which Mr. Elijah Rice occupied many years, and until his death, 1827."
