Bartlett" (1839 in New Jersey to Esther Gillespie; and 1843 in Illinois to Sarah Potter), but wikipedia:Elbridge Gerry was a famous person, and it is likely that more than one person shared this name. The first marriage seems likely based on the parents named in a death record of Frances E. (Bartlett) Williams, b. Boston 1844. The second appears ruled out by the same record. Meanwhile a death record for a wife named Abby is found in 1849, possibly a sister of the first wife since they shared origins in Bloomfield, New Jersey (see death record of Frances), but possibly not.
