C Imken: I remember when my grandmother was 70 yrs old and I was 14, she used to race me barefooted across the sand behind the house she and Otto owned near Elmendorf, Tx. I use to ride my bicycle the approx 10 miles from home to the farm to see them. I loved Grammy & Grand paw because they took care of Peggy and me for a while when they lived on a farm near LaVernia. I learned to cuss from my Grand paw when I was 3 yrs old because he plowed with a pair of mules that hawed when he thought they should geed. One of the last time I saw my grandmother, I went by the house she later moved into on Tillie St in San Antonio after grandpa died in 1954. I was Abt 24 at the time I visited her so she was about 80. When I didn't get a response at the door, I went around back and found her up in a peach tree picking peaches.
