Mrs. Joe D. Pratt, 74, a life-long Audrain countian, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phillip Melahn of Rush Hill, at 11:45 o'clock Wednesday night. Mrs. Pratt had made her home in Mexico for many years, and until three months ago when taken ill, had lived at her own home at 1509 South Western.

  Born Nov. 29, 1865, Mrs. Pratt was Effie Lou Hill, the daughter of Tandy and Susan Hill.  She was married May 27, 1888, to Mr. Pratt.  She was the mother of seven children, three of them surviving.  They are mrs. Melahn of Rush Hill, and Mrs. Russell Phillips and Bryan Pratt of Mexico.  Mr. Pratt died Aug. 10, 1926.
  Mrs. Pratt is also survived by five grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. May Morehouse of Santa Monic, Calif., and Mrs. George Vanlaningham of Paris, and a brother Sidney Hill now living in the state of California.
