    Bio: Son of Samuel Bayard and Maria (Porter) Woodward.

    On 29 Oct 1860 Edwin, 28, married Helen M. Musgrave, daughter of Thomas and Martha Musgrave, at Northampton, Massachusetts, in a first marriage for him and the second for her.

    On 1 Aug 1861 Edwin, an accountant, mustered into service with the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry as a 1st Lieutenant, being credited to the quota of Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was 29 years and 16 days old.

    On 11 Apr 1863 Edwin was promoted to as Captain. On 29 Jul 1863 Edwin ended military service with the 15th Massachusetts as a 1st Lieutenant. Edwin also served in the U. S. Signal Corps starting bet. 1864 - 1865.

    From Crane's Worcester Memoirs: "After the close of the war he engaged in the drug business at Worcester in partnership with David Scott, and later went to New York and engaged in the brokerage business. He now (1907) lives a retired life at Summit, New Jersey."

    He died on 15 Jul 1910 at Summit, Union County, New Jersey. He was 77 years, 11 months and 29 days old.
