E.D. Crumrine Was Killed In Action In France
Pfc. Edwin D. Crumrine was killed in action in France on March 2, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Roy Crumrine of near Nova, were informed Sunday by a War Department telegram. "Ned" as he was known, enlisted in the Army and on June 3, 1944, was inducted, receiving his assignment to Camp Blanding, Florida. After a furlough home in October he went to Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, and went overseas with the Infantry in early November, landing in Italy, He was transferred to France about New Year's Day. A graduate of Troy Centralized High School, Class of 40, Pfc. Crumrine attended Ashland College during the subsequent two years and before his induction was engaged in farming for his parents at the family home northeast of Nova. He was a member of the Nova Methodist church and Sunday school and taught a Sunday school class of high school age boys and girls. Pfc. Crumrine is survived by his parents; three brothers, Lt. (jg) John S. Crumrine of the U. S. Navy, at Pensacola, Florida, Capt. William M. Crumrine of the A. A. F. Romulus Army Air Field, Romulus, Michigan, and Sgt. Rob Roy Crumrine, with the U. S.
