Webb, 79, of 908 County Route 183, died Wednesday at Loretto Heights nursing facility, Oswego. Mr. Webb was employed by White's Lumber, worked for the town of Williamstown and was a self-employed logger and woodcutter. He was a member of Hastings- Gorski American Legion Post 1128. Born May 19, 1923, at Bernhards Bay, he was a son of DeForest and Arilla Dusharm Webb. A veteran of World War II, he served with the 319th Infantry division in the Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland and received a Purple Heart. He married Edith J. Staring on April 8, 1951. They moved to Williamstown in 1960. Mrs. Webb died Oct. 15, 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly S. Webb, Williamstown, and Ida M. Lytle and her companion, Henry Tanner, Altmar; 13 grandchildren...A daughter, Beatrice M. Muir, died Nov. 27, 2000. Two brothers and three sisters also died before him. A graveside service with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery later this spring. References
