Edward M. Swenor, 93, of 502 Dickinson St. died Wednesday in a local nursing home. He was a cook at the former State Diner for many years, and also was a cab driver for Black & White Cab Co. He retired in 1978. Born in Shoreham, Vt., he spent many years in this area, and was a communicant of the Holy Name Church. His wife, the former Florence McCarthy, died in 1990. He leaves two sons, Edward Jr. and Harold K. of Springfield; five daughters, Beverly J. LaLiberte of West Springfield, Phyllis H. Berube of Harrisville, R.I., Loretta F. Casey of Springfield, Lorraine J. Jaillet of Osprey, Fla., and Betty S. Ferrindino of Wilbraham; 35 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Two other sons, Louis B., and Harry R., died earlier. The funeral will be on Saturday morning at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeal Home and the church, with the burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
