He at least ret. to Cape Porp., was wounded by Ind. 10 Aug. 1703, escaped by getting among the bushes and d. of his wound ab. three days after reaching Wells. Later the fam. throve in Gloucester, where widow Mary died 21 Dec. 1717,; child: Edward, shipwright, Rowley, b. at Scituate 29 Dec. 1692/3, m. at Rowley 18 Dec. 1716 Elizabeth Gage. 13 children recorded
