Will Abstract

1694-1697 Richmond County, Virginia Order Book 2; Part 1 [Antient Press]; Page 86)
Richmond County Court 2nd of October 1695
- The Last Will and Testament of EDWARD PRICE being presented to this Court by ANNE. the Relict and Administrx of the said EDWARD, the sd Will was proved by the Oaths of ANDREW BOURNE & JOHN BOURNE witnesses thereto and Probate thereof granted to the said Executrix
- Upon the humble Petition of ANN, the Widow Relict of EDWARD PRICE, it is ordered that DAVID BRENNAH, BENJAMIN HENSLOE and RICHARD SHIPPIE or any two of them sometime between this and the next Court held for this County do meet at the House of the said EDWARD and then and there do Inventory and appraise all and singular the said Estate as shall be presented to their view by the said Executrix and make report thereof under their hands in writing to the next Court. Mr. ALEXANDER DONIPHAN is requested to Administer an Oath to the said Executrix for the true discovery as also to the said Appraisers for their due appraisement of the said Estate
2 Oct 1700 (Richmond Co.,VA Court Orders) "Administration is granted to Christian Johnson upon all & singular the Estate of Andrew Bourne deced during the minorities of Peter Bourne". It is known that Peter Bourne was son of Christian who appears earlier in Richmond County records as Christian Bourne. This administration appointment strongly implies that she had been the wife of Andrew Bourne whose last appearance in records had been in Oct. 1695. (Richmond Co.,VA Court Orders 2 Oct 1695, will of Edward Price proved by John and Andrew Bourne.)
