I have traced my line back to an Edward Parkison, who died in early September of 1755 in York County, Pennsylvania. Edward's son, Daniel Parkison (1754-1838) served in the Revolutionary War and was granted land in Montgomery County, Virginia after the war and stayed there until 1808, when he removed to Fairfield County, Ohio, that part of which became Perry County in in 1818.Daniel and his wife, Catherine raised 10 children, all of whom had been born in Pennsylvania or Virginia. The youngest of these, Samuel Parkison (1798-1855), came to Delaware County, Indiana in 1839 with his wife and 9 children, with two more being born in Mount Pleasant Township within the next 4 years. The oldest of these children was Eli P. Parkison (1822-1892), Fred Parkison's grandfather, and the 5th oldest was William John Parkison (1829-1862), my great-great grandfather. Eli and his wife, Sarah (Jones) Parkison, lived for 15 years in Delaware County until leaving in late 1857.They and their children lived for a time in Missouri before settling near Hamburg in Fremont County, Iowa in the 1860's.Eli and Sarah Parkison eventually had 8 children.Their second child, Samuel Edwin Parkison (1847-1920), married Mary Elizabeth Calkins and had four sons, the second of which was Frederic Eli Parkison (1875-1949).Of course, as you probably already know, he and Carrie raised four children, 1 daughter, Leona, and 3 boys.
