    The father of the Albemarle Moodys was Edward Moody born abt. 1705-1713 in Essex Co., Virginia, died 1774-1790, probably in Albemarle Co., Virginia. His wife's name is not known, but there was a Sallie Moody in records in 1796 who might have been her.

    Edward's father was John Moody Sr., born about 1660-1665 and died shortly before 20 March 1738, when his will was submitted to probate, in Essex Co. Virginia. John married Mary Copnall, probably in the mid-1680's. Edward was listed as a son in John Moody's will.
