"Edward D. Leischner, 64, retired farmer rites at Salem Congregational Church with Rev. John Hamstra, pastor of Presbyterian Church officiating. He farmed SE of Parkston for 54 yrs., was an elder in Presbyterian Church and ASC (?) committeeman. Burial at city cemetery under direction of Mehlhaff Funeral Homes. Survivors include his widow, Zelah, one son Kermit of Parkston, three daughters; Mrs. Andrew Olson of Ely, MN, Mrs. Al Solay of Parkston, and Miss Darlene Leischner of De Smet; one brother Emil of Rochister, WA; two sisters Mrs. Dewey Taylor of Alexandria and Mrs. Jim Simmons of Piedmont and six grandchildren."
