KUNDELL Richland--Edward J. Kundell, 60, of 8606 Orwell ST, died Thursday at Upstate Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of Sylvester and Iva Rungee Kundell. He was educated in area schools. He was a Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Following military service, Mr. Kundell worked for Sweets Paper Co. in Pulaski and the Pulaski and Richland post offices, from which he retired in 1978 after 30 years. He moved to Richland from Pulaski ten years ago. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pulaski and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Russell Tryon American Legion Post No. 1435 in Altmar, the National Rural Letter Carriers Assoc., Monteola Club, Jack McDonald Club, Inc., and bowled in local leagues. Surviving are his wife, the former Isabelle Caufield; two sons, Dr. Frederick Kundell, Salisbury MD and Dr. James Kundell, Athens GA; two daugthters, Mrs. Donald (Kathy) Shumway of Mexico and Jeanne at home; his mother, Mrs. Iva Culp; seven grandchildren... Funeral services will be held Monday... at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home... Pulaski and... at St. John the Evangelist Church. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas R. Whalen. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski, with full military honors. References
