REV. E. D. KOETH DIES IN INDIANA Rev. E. D. Koeth, 80 years old, retired Methodist minister, died Sunday night, December 7, 1947, at Connersville, Ind. He had served pastorates in Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania and Indiana. Following his retirement in 1928, he went to Connersville to live. His last pastorate was at Moore's Hill, Ind., where he resigned because of ill health. He had been a minister for more than 31 years. Several years ago, he had received a Masonic 50-year membership award. Survivors include the widow, Hannah Baum Koeth; a daughter, Mrs. J. Urba Joyce of Connersville; a grandson, Rev. Harold Koeth Joyce; a sister, Mrs. Henry Rice of Los Angeles, Calif., and two great-grandchildren, of South Bend, Ind. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Joyce at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Dr. Joseph G. Moore officiated, assisted by Dr. Robert Badger of Rushville, district superintendent; Rev. Bryan Green of Greenville, a nephew, and the grandson, the Rev. Mr. Joyce. Burial was in Dale Cemetery. Rev. Koeth was a former pastor of the Doe Run Methodist Church. |
