ORIGIN: Tenterden, Kent. MIGRATION: 1635 on the Hercules (on 4 March 1634/5. "Edw[ar]d Jenkins," one of seven servants of Nathaniel Tilden of Tenterden, Kent, was included in the list of passengers of the Hercules of Sandwich (NEHGR 75:218]). FREEEMAN: On 4 May 1647, "Edward Jenkine" was admitted a Plymouth freeman [PCR 2:114].
Edward Jenkins, bp. 14 Dec. 1617;..He left a will dated 2 March 1698/9, proved 9 Aug. 1699; the inventory of his estate was taken 20 July 1699.

From Hotten:s Original Persons: "Of all such persons as embarked themselves in the good ship called the Hercules, of Sandwicxh, of the burthen of 200 tons, John Witherley, master, and therein transported from Sandwich to the plantation called New England in America; with the cerificates from the ministers where they last dwelt of their conversation, and conformity to the orders and discipline of the church, and that they had taken the oath of allegiance and supremacy.
