Know Yee that for diverse good causes & considerations but more especially for & in consideration of the importation of fifty persons to dwell within this Colony of Virginia whose names are: Sarah Blasted, Saml. Grey, Wm. Watkins, Michael Trenchman, Nicholas ____, Thomas More, Robt. Stanly, Wm. Cobritt, Ellen Roach, Edw. Hill, Junr., Eliza. Hill, Susanna Brett, Saml. Russell, Walter Rowland, Jo. Hall, Jo. Jacob, Jo Merywether, Tho. More, Walter McGoyne, Dorothy Henton, Dorothy Barber, Long John, Thomas Merywether, Coll. Hill, John Sparks, Thomas Dale, Rich. Diericke, Solomon Williams, Owen Morrarrow, Rich Hutton, Diana Collins, Alex Dunbar, Capt. Robt. Lucy, Jno. Stith Jr., Wm. Francis, Jacob Mesler, Wm. Cater, Thos. Deale, Wm. Glover, Saml. Jones, Peter Goodrich, Richard Carpenter, John Byasse, Henry Felts, Rebecca Corney, Jane, Anne, and John __________; We have Given, Granted and Confirmed and by these presents for our Heirs and Successors do give Give, Grant and Confirm unto Colonel Edward Hill of the County of Charles City One certain parcel of land containing Two Thousand Four hundred Ninety One Acres lying and being in the parish of ____in the upper parts of New Kent Country on the Southern side of Pamunkey River and bounded as followeth (to witt) Beginning at a white oake market corner of the south side at a branch called the Catalayel or Myery branch and thence up the same branch as it turns and winds west nearest in a right line sight hundered thirty six pole along by the mouth of the Spangly Branch and the mouth of the Falling Branch both which fall into the Catalyle Branch from the South and still up the Catalyle Branch to a white oake corner tree thence by lines of market trees south five hundred forty two poles east eight hundred thirty six pole and north four hundred and eighty pole to the place it began at and Inclosing within these bounds Two Pitts or Mines lately discovered and Digged which lie east and west of each other and three hundred and fifty pole asunder the middle of which distance is near the center or middle part of this two thousand four hundred and ninety one acres which said two thousand four hundred ninety one acres is parcel of an entry for ten thousand acres made with James Minge late surveyor of the said Country on the 21st of January last past by James Taylor in the name of himself and others & Company and since by the request of the said Taylor and others of that Company under their hands to him directed was surveyed and plainly marked and sett out for and in the name of Col. Edward Hill aforesaid one of the said Company and done in presence of diverse of the nearer neighbors on the eighth day of April One Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Nine With All &c. To have and hold &c. To be held &c. Yielding and Paying &c. Provided &c. In Witness &c. Witness our trusty and well beloved Alexander Spotswood our Lieut. Governor &c. at Winsburg under the seale of our said Colony the nineteenth days of December One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eleven In the Tenth Year of our Reign.
