    CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admission to Salem church prior to 14 May 1634 implied by freemanship. "Edmund Giles" appears in a list of Salem church members prepared at end of 1616, with annotation "dead" [SChR 5].
    FREEMAN: 14 May 1634 (as "Edw: Gyles") [MBCR 1:368].
    DEATH: After 17 December 1649 when "Edmond Gyles his 10 acre lott" is mentioned [STR 1:162], but by 10 December 1656 when "Widd. Giles" appeared as a debtor in a probate inventory [EQC 2:49].
