Obituary: EDWARD L. ELLIS DIES TODAY AT HIS HOME HERE Death Results from Heart Disease and Dropsy-Funeral Sunday Afternoon-Burial to be Made at Huntington

Edward L. Ellis, 74, succumbed to an illness caused by heart disease and dropsy at 4 O'clock Friday morning at his home located at the corner of Chicago and Coesse Streets. he had been in declining health for a period of seven years. A week ago his condition became serious.

Mr. Ellis was a native of huntington Co, born to the late John and Ellen Ellis on May 9, 1850. In the early 80's he came to Whitley County and resided near Larwill with his late sister, Mrs. Harvey Beard.

On January 25, 1882 he was married to Eura Roderick of Whitley Co. During the past 20 years Mr. and Mrs. Ellis resided in Columbia City.

Surviving are the widow; five children, Mrs. M.E. Schults of Ann Arbor, Mich, John Ellis at home, Kirk Ellis of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. W.L. Erne and Mrs. Earl Sheets of Columbia City; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The only other relative surviving outside of the immediate family is a niece, Mrs. Abe Landis of Huntington.

Prteceding him in death were four children, Mrs. Otto Wolfe, Mrs. Wade Randall, Maudie and Charles Ellis; also three sisters, Mrs. Harvey Beard, Mrs. C.R.France and Mrs. Will Wysong.

The many friends of the Ellis family regret to learn of Mr. Ellis' death. The sympathy of the community is extended to them in their bereavement.

The body, removed to the Luckenbill's Sons Funeral HOme, will be returned to the Ellis residence at 9:00 Saturday morning. Friends will be received there until 1 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Wolford of the Free Methodist church, will be held at 2 oclock Sunday afternoon in Luckenbill's Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be made in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Huntington.
