The station was built by Mr. Smith in 1950 and he has owned and operated it since that date. The new owners will continue to render the same services that have been available before and have added car tune-up equipment to the grage. Both are experienced men. Anderson has been in general grage work with Asa Case for the past 14 years and Coggins has been connected with Denzik's for five years.

Oct. 9, 2003 -- Were arrived home today Called and talked to family and found Ed Coggins hade been in the hospital his lung collapsed. The cance is growing again, he has bee told he has 2 weeks to 2 months they are having Hospice set up at their appartment.

The Alpena News 2003 COGGINS, Edward Thomas, 72, of Alpena died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003. He is survived by his wife, MaryLou Coggins; five children, Kim (Bonnie) Coggins of Menominee, Dr. Kip (Natalia) Coggins of El Paso, Texas, Kerry Coggins of South Haven, Kit (Linda) Coggins of South Haven and Cappi (Frank) Schenkhuizen of Portage; one step-daughter, Pam Copping of Alpena; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-step-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Dill and Jane Blonden of Flushing; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. with Fr. James Kendziorski officiating.
