1. In 1969 Mercedes and John Drummy visit Ed and Alice, and Bridget's children, in Castleblayney/Carickmacross. Mercedes is happy to have made the trip to the old home where Ann Casey was born. Margaret says the home has been in the Casey family for centuries. (Not clear if Mercedes actually visited the house or is referring to the general area.)

Ed points out a house over on a hill from which Mercedes' grandparents (Patrick McEnany/Ann Casey) were evicted.
