Ned died while at his daughter Charlotte Cornett's home. He moved to Russell Co, VA and then to Clay Co.KY

Per Carolyn Davisons Research: He moved to Russell Co VA and then to Clay Co KY. Edward and Susannah were brought into court in Montgomery Co. VA for living together and not being married and having children out of wedlock.

Ned lived in Clay Co, Breathitt Co and Perry Co KY. Edward was recorded as having received a share in the estate of his father, Darby along with Ezekial, Jane, Nathaniel, Darby Hopper, Jones Parrish, and his mother Unity Harris Callahan.

In deed book C (1838-1847) p. 107. Recorded on Aug 10, 1839. Heirs of Edward Callahan, deceased, are as follows: John Hays, Jane Hays, Samuel McCollum, Zelphy McCollum, and Jackson McCollum.

When as an old man and the deer had about disappeared, Ned would go out in the evening by Mill Creek (Benge area), build a fire, and sleep by it all night. He always wore his hunting tackle, a pouch containing flint, a pipe with his tobacco, etc. He would put it on when he got dresssed, just as his other clothing. This was remembered by John McDaniel on June 13, 1898 in Dickeys Diary pp. 2340-2343.

When Ned first came to Clay Co he settled on Grapevine Creek. Two of his daughters settled near him. This area became part of Perry Co. The other two settled in what is now Clay County.

He was brought into court in Montgomery Co. VA for living together and having children out of wedlock. I assume he was living with Mahala.
