Obituary Edward Bernys (The Palladium-Times Tuesday March 20, 2007 Page 5, Col.1) Edward Bernys, 96, a former resident of St. Luke Apartments, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 at St. Luke Health Services. Mr. Bernys was born in New Boston, Pa., a son of the late John and Mary(Jasinska) Bernys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served at Fort Ontario in the 1930s. Prior to his 1974 retirement, he was employed at the Hammermill Corp. in Oswego. He had previously worked on the ground crew for Northeast Airlines at Laguardia Airport in New York. He was the husband of the late Marie(Mayer) Bernys, who died in 1988. He is survived by two daughters, Louise Potter of Oswego, and Gloria(John) Mazzoli of Oswego; two sons, Edward(Joan) Bernys of Oswego and Robert(Carol) Bernys of Sanford, Fla.; a brother, Martin Bernys of Long Island; a sister Sophie Panek of Long Island; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be private. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego. References
