Ed died of Typhoid at age 21 (Apr. 27, 1888 on cemetery records) according to notes of interview with Sophia Bickle at age 99 (and mentally sharp) by her daughter, Esther Lucretia. Notes passed to Connie McGruder (see letter of Apr. 27, 1986 showing family Bible and interview comments). Interesting that Oswego Cemetery lists him as Edward D. Ellis Barrack Campbell ( he was apparently adopted by Charles R. Campbell).
