C Imken E-mail 3/11/02: I tried calling her several times on June 9, 1981 and she didn't answer the phone. I then went to her house and while I was standing in her bedroom, the phone rang and the voice identified himself as the Sheriff of Wilson County. He said they had found her car stuck in a farmland area near the Sutherland Springs area. He then organized a search party of about 50. There were people on foot, men on horseback and helicopters but we found nothing after 2 days of intense searching. Peggy and I distributed missing person reward flyers all over San Antonio and nearby towns. It wasn't until July 22 that they found her laying near where Psychic John Catchings said she would be found. I think she was driving around looking for where Otto and Mary Imken used to live, became disoriented, got stuck in sand trying to turn around, and tried to walk to a highway through some dense grass and shrubbery. She had a bad hip, was 74 yrs old, and because it was a very hot day, she evidently had a stroke or heart attack and did not get very far. Because of the high plant growth, she would be very hard to find. I've attached an old news article about it.
