WEATHERFORD 16 Jun 2004-- Services for Edna M. Young, 83, Weatherford, formerly of Ada, OK. are 10 a.m. Thursday at Criwsell Funeral Home Chapel, Ada, OK., Dr. George Warren officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada. The family will receive friends today from 5-7 p. m. at Criswell Funeral home.
Mrs. Young died 15 Jun 2004, at a Weatherford hospital. She was born 14 Jul 1920 at Crystal, WI., to Allonzo and Eva Murray Haynes. She graduated from Moyers High School, Moyers, and attended East Central College, Ada. She was resident at Alterra Sterling House, Ada, from March 2003 until Feb 2004, before moving to Weatherford.
She and James R. 'Jim' Young were married 20 Jul 1946, at Norman, Cleveland Co., OK. He died 28 Nov 1983 in Ada. Mrs. Young was employed at Southwest Bell Telephone, retiring after 40 years of service.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Butts and Audrey Moyer. Survivors include a daughter Ruby Jun Haynes, Houston, TX; a sister Goldie Stevens, Springdale, AR., a brother, Louis Haynes, Miami: three nieces, Lacretia Strong of Hydro, OK. Rhonda Palmer and husband Paddy, Caddo Gap, AR. and Jean Beth Martin, Garr Corner, OK. four nephews, Rod Moyer and wife Pam, Soper, OK. and Randy Moyer, Antlers, OK. Dusty Stout, OK. City and Gale Daniel, Colorado; and other nieces and nephews.
Bearers are great nephews, Troy Strong, Bryan Moyer, Ray Lynn Buchanan, Ryan Buchanan, Randel Moyer, Terry Thurman and Brent Haugen.
