Edna Casteel was born at Caldwell NE which was a country PO about 1/2 mile east of the Lyman sugar factory. Edna was a very gentle, unselfish person just like her father. She was deeply religious and attended Henry Methodist Church faithfully for years until she developed a severe heart condition when she was about 30 years old. She learned to live with it but had to limit her activities quite extensively for the rest of her life. She was deeply devoted to Elmer and spent her life being a wonderful wife and mother. She passed away at home with the last of her many heart attacks in Elmer's arms when they were home alone at age 62.
