Edna M. Acors Hale, 93, formerly of Parkersburg, died Jan. 4, 2006, at Maria Joseph Living Center in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born in Wirt County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dr. Richard Acors and Cora Corbitt Acors Byrd. She was a member of First Nazarene Church and worked several places as an LPN.

She is survived by her husband Walter Hale of Parkersburg; granddaughters, Carolyn Mitchell and Sharon Miller of Dayton, Ohio; stepsisters, Ruth Fleming and Nelma Stephens; stepbrothers, John, Edgar and Ray Byrd; stepdaughter, Eloise Mary Townsend; three stepsons, Walter Creed Balser and his wife, Donald Hale and his wife and Tom Hale and his wife; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Edna Lower.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall Balser; daughter, Betty Miller; brother, John Acors; sister, Geraldine Villers; and two stepdaughters, Patricia Daley and Ruth Bryan.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will be at Big Tygart Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
