Researcher & descendant Doug Fox says Edmond Lovett was homesteading with his sons in Stanton Cty, NE by 1870. This census spears to show him living in his own household, with no sign of wife Mary. By 1880, he is back in Clinton Cty, IN, living with another son, Joseph, and family. His marital status at that time is listed as widowed. He died in 1888 in Clinton Cty, IN, and his obituary appeared 21 Jan 1881 on p. 1 of the Frankfort Crescent: ... Doug has been unable to find any mention of Mary/Polly SMITH Lovett after the 1850 census. The firstborn to Edmond & Mary was named Nehemiah Chenoweth LOVETT. And CHENOWETH is among those listed in connection with the settling of Elias LOVETT’s estate in Ross Cty, OH.
