EDITH YONKER IRWIN Selkirk, N.Y. Edith Yonker Irwin of Selkirk passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001, after a brief illness. She was 86. The daughter of Frank Michael and Ellen Vernooy Yonker, she was born May 15, 1914, in Woodridge. Mrs. Irwin was a graduate of Woodridge High School and Misericordia School of Nursing, Manhattan and she worked at Liberty Hospital and Monticello Memorial Hospital. On Sept. 1, 1939, she married George Irwin of Neversink and they moved to Selkirk, where they resided for 50 years. Survivors include her husband, George Irwin of Selkirk; one son Frank George Irwin and granddaughter Sonya Anne, both of Anchorage, Alaska; her brother Kenneth Yonker and his wife, Julia of Hermitage, Pa.; six nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many loving relatives, friends and neighbors. Mrs. Irwin was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marion Yonker Muscarella and her husband, Joseph. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 27, at the Babcock Funeral Home, 19 Pulver Avenue, Ravena. The Rev. Richard Chatterton will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Coeymans at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Ravena Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 144, Ravena, N.Y. 12143. Funeral arrangements were made by Babcock Funeral Home.
