Francis Parvin & Thomas Parvin are appointed to join some Womenfriends to let her know the conclusion of the Meeting and prepare a Testification against her & bring to next monthly meeting for approbation.

Exeter MM p 138 - 9 6/30/1790

Mordecai Lee informs that he with some others have had a good deal of conversation with Edith Phillips and that she seemed somewhat at desirous of Friends forbearances; but that they were of the mind that it might be best to proceed to testitfy against her misconduct, as they apprehend there is a reason to believe that she hath been guilty of unchastity before marriage which she dothnot undertake fully to deny; which being concurred with by the Mtg. the same Friend & Thomas Lightfoot are appd.. in company with some Womenfriends to draw a Testimony against her & bring to next mtg. for approbation. He also informs us that he with several other Friends have visited with Sarah Phillips, that they had a time of conversation with her; that she continues he request & they unanimously agree to report that they think her request may be complied with. And she being her of her place of residence at so just great a distance hence, the Meeting agrees now to receive her into Membership as long as her Life & Conversation are consistent with Friends Principles.

It follows as: 'Whearas Edith Phillips (formerly Eves, daughter of John Eves) having some years ago, on request being received into membership with us the People called Quakers: but for want of taking due heed to the Dictates of Truth in her own mind, hath so far tansgressed the Rules of Society as to accomplish her marriage contrary thereto: for which she has been treated with in order to bring her to a sense of her E... and tis apprehended she hasth been quilty of unchastity before marriage, which she doth not undertake fully to deny. Therefore for the clearing of Truth & Friends for such disordrs, we do hereby disown the said Edith Phillips from a right of membership with us the aforesaid people until she condemns the same to the satisfaction of this Meeting: which that she may is our desire.
